I prefer that you pay me according to how much you feel the session helped you, as opposed to watching the clock and charging an hourly rate. For a standard appointment (which usually lasts between 1.5-2 hours), I am satisfied to receive between $60-$100 cash (or more). The higher the amount you choose to pay me, the more I am willing to clear my schedule to meet with you at your availability. On the flip side, if you pay me a lesser amount I will be less likely to have openings to meet with you in the future.
Students may request for me to speed up the instruction if they are pressed for time, or slow down if they would rather take more time. Unfortunately, this site requires me to publish an hourly rate, which does not accurately portray my payment system because the vast majority of my appointments are more than 1 hour and I don’t charge based on length. Since appointments typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours, I published an (optional) $40 per hour rate to reflect the possibility that a student may pay me $80 for a 2-hour appointment. If you feel more comfortable paying according to an hourly rate structure, that is fine with me too.
Please contact me no matter what, even if you are considering a tutor who asks for a lower fee. I may accept lower bids based on my availability, and discounts are possible if you refer me to others or meet with me in groups.
My best location is Northwest Columbus but I will meet at your home, school or any public location, college or university within or near the outer belt for no additional charge. This includes Ohio State, Columbus State, Franklin, Ohio Dominican, Otterbein, and Strayer.
In addition to the listed availability, I can meet for a mid-day appointment Mondays through Fridays in downtown Columbus.
