About Me

Experience Summary

Current Florida State University Chess club President. Working for Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend as chess instructor, 2013-2014. Assisted Mayor Ryan of Sunrise, Florida with Scholastic Chess in Broward County for their First Move program. Met multiple chess masters including GM Ron Henley and America's #1 Blitz GM Hikaru Nakamura. Attended multiple tournaments and study chess books daily, both on tactics and positional understanding.

Teaching Style

- Scholastic based. - Use chess as a tool to help with cognitive thinking, pattern recognition, and problem solving. What I love about this game is it's ability to increase aptitude and independence. - Able to understand individuals limitations and adjust my approach to certain problems they are having accordingly. - Patient. - Teach on a homework-based schedule. I look at games they have, look at the answers they give to problems, understand why they are making certain errors, and correct them in a way they will understand.

My Hobbies

- Trumpet - Tennis

Other Comments

- Wrote lesson plans for B&G Contractor and schools. - Keep up-to-date with others through emailing and phone calls to ensure minimal miscommunication.
