Teaching Style
My philosophy of teaching is to create a vibrant learning environment for students. Teaching is more than presenting facts, concepts, and principles. Teaching is the integration of a variety of methods that help students reach their educational goals and objectives by helping them to develop their:
• communication skills (writing and speech),
• innate talents,
• decision-making skills,
• organizational skills, and
• collaboration skills.
I believe these elements are germane to helping students as they develop career and academic life maps.
I am a dedicated professional with many years of teaching experience that focus on using best practices to create learning environments. These learning environments include:
• assessments for learning and understanding chemistry concepts and principles,
• academic planning to help students pursue the correct courses as they navigate their career programs, and
• outcome measures to help students reach their academic goals.
My Hobbies
scuba diving, reading, science fiction films, and bike riding
