Experience Summary
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
My name is Christina and I am a certified elementary school teacher. I have seven years of experience teaching Kindergarten-8th grade online and in the classroom. I set my standards and expectations high for my students and they always make progress quickly! I customize my lessons so that each and every student receives the best education and engagement.
My wide range of experiences in education has led me to be a passionate leader. I have been trained in Guided Language Acquisition and Design (GLAD), Thinking Maps, project-based learning, and Direct Interactive Instruction (DII). All strategies have been skillfully weaved into Common Core curriculum such as Eureka Math, and Benchmark Advance. Furthermore, I am well versed in Math Talks, Cognitive Guided Instruction (CGI), and Response to Intervention (RTI).
As a lifelong educator, I value, create, and implement lessons to foster 21st century skills: collaboration, communication, critical thinking, research, and creative thinking. I utilize my free time to create innovative and engaging intervention games differentiated for my students across all disciplines on Teachers Pay Teachers. I provide the opportunity for students to think creatively through conceptual understanding by designing leveled real world problems with a focused objective for students to struggle in their zone of proximal development. Additionally, I incorporate technology (iReady, ClassDojo, Google Classroom, ST Math, Accelerated Reader) to reinforce concepts, engage students, and analyze assessment data, which is a significant extension to my lesson plans. More recently, as an editor for Teacher Created Materials, I have collaborated with authors to create lesson plans that cater to Dr. Sharroky Hollie’s collection of Culturally Authentic texts for grades 2–5.
