Experience Summary
I have taught elementary children, grades kindergarten through the fifth grade for three years overseas. I have also tutored for over four years. I was the head kindergarten teacher, phonics and reading teacher. I oversaw the kindergarten teachers, reviewed curriculum for each semester and school events. The subjects I have experience teaching are but not limited to phonics, reading, math, vocabulary and social studies.
Teaching Style
I am a very outgoing and energetic but patient teacher. I will often push my student beyond what they believe they are capable of. For example, my lowest kindergarten class by the end of the fourth semester was reading second grade level books and worksheets. My second grade level students were reading by the end of the second semester fourth to sixth grade reads. I will never encourage failure out of a student nor will I tolerate the child to feel they are not smart. I understand there maybe some hurdles a child goes through and with just a little push in the right direction they can succeed in anything.
Other Comments
I have to comment on that I don't have a teaching credential. I am very good at what I do because I believe sometimes you have to think like a child to better help them. I once struggled learning a new language when I was younger so I understand how it feels to feel defeated. Just because someone has a teaching credential does not make them a great teacher.

| I've had three students who were diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and two students whom I felt were ADD/ADHD. Its very difficult for students with this diagnosis to concentrate in class let alone in an environment with too much stimulation. Because of this, I have experienced tutoring such students and understand the importance of stimulating them with motivational educational games as well as giving lots of breaks to rest their minds. |

| I have had experience with two students diagnosed with dyslexia and was grateful to have caught it early on so to help both students and parents through this process. Most to all dyslexic children fell out of place in the class setting, because they feel they are not as smart compared to their peers. Its very important for these children to be motivated and have the help from parents, teachers and tutors to help them get through their insecurities. |
