Experience Summary
I have been a certified Special Education teacher for 9 years and have taught reading, writing, and math to grades K-5. The population of students that I serve include students that have been identified with a specified learning disability, ADHD, and Autism. My instruction is delivered one on one or to a small group of students. My role as a Special Education teacher is to identify a student's strengths and areas of weakness and to close the educational gap. My experience enables me to easily pinpoint where a student is academically and to help them gain the skills needed to reach his/her potential.
Reading experience includes: Early Literacy,phonics, fluency, vocabulary development, writing, and comprehension.
Writing experience includes: Letter formation, sentence writing, grammar, and all the steps in the writing process such as pre-writing, drafting, revising and editing. and publishing.
Math experience includes: Number sense and teaching the skills mandated by the TEKS.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is very relaxed and hands on. I believe that a positive relationship between the teacher and students is essential in order for the student to perform to the best of his/her ability. I set very high expectations for my students, consistently offer praise and encouragement, and empower students to take charge of his/her learning.

My hobbies include reading, gardening, baking, sewing, and camping
