Experience Summary
We travel in Latin America a lot, and when we travel we always study
Spanish with tutors. A lot!
A sad thing is how little they make despite their high level skills.
When we find tutors who we like as people and who are top notch, we
try to help them find work using Skype. Despite unbelievably low
rates, this work doubles or triples anything they can make teaching
in-country.
The low rates we charge make it possible for you to go the long haul
which is critical to your success because learning Spanish takes a lot
of time. That is also why we only hire tutors who are great people.
The main thing that motivates language learning is a desire to
communicate, so a tutor who can become your friend helps accomplish
that. "Full Time" for our tutors is only about 13 students, and if
you stay the course you will probably find that you will become
genuine friends.

Teaching Style
A note about qualifications:
In Latin America (where most native speakers live!) it's not so simple to get qualifications that are meaningful in North America or Europe.
We have studied with a large number of tutors and there are huge differences in the quality of instruction, but those differences don't always track with formal educational background. So instead of evaluating that way, we just evaluate based on our personal experience. My wife is an advanced student, and I'm a near beginner. We both have to agree that the teacher is the cream of the crop as a teacher.
Just as important, we both have to agree that the tutor is someone we enjoy spending time with, who makes us want to continue and learn.
