Experience Summary
Hello, my name is Lauren and I absolutely love tutoring! I have tutored since I was in high school (about 5 years of experience total)and more recently have worked as a Peer Tutor at Westminster College, as well as teaching private voice and piano lessons.
As a biology major, I'm most experienced in science and math related areas, particularly general biology, general chemistry, statistics, algebra, and geometry. I am also very qualified to tutor ACT and SAT test prep, as I scored extremely high in all areas of the two tests, earning a 34 on the ACT and a 2190 on the SAT.
I'm also qualified to tutor in several humanities areas, especially writing-a skill strongly emphasized by Westminster's intensive and selective Honors Program. I have also taken AP tests in English Literature (5), Human Geography (5), European History (4), and American History (4) and IB tests in English (6) and Theatre (6) and would be willing to tutor any related areas. French is also a subject I tutor, as I have taken 5 consecutive years of the language and done well in courses.
Finally, as a performer and theatre double major, I am strongly qualified to tutor the performing arts. I have previously taught private piano and voice lessons, and have been playing piano and singing for 15 years in both private and school-related settings, making me a viable tutor in both private lessons and basic music theory. I have also been trained in classical ballet for 18 years in an intensive studio setting and have been participating in theatre classes and productions for 18 years.
I would love to tutor any of the subjects listed above and am willing to talk about other related subjects as well. Rates are very negotiable.
