Experience Summary
I'm Vicky and I'm a graduate student majoring in TESOL. My previous experience with tutoring is teaching kindergarten and elementary-age children Chinese, and my teaching method is fairly hands-on. Guiding them in the right direction to learn language is my focus so that they will develop their language learning skills on their own. It is an amazing self-confidence booster for many students and I am very proud to see they begin to communicate in Chinese. However, I recognize that each student needs a different level of guidance and am willing to adjust to individual needs.
Teaching Style
I am a native Chinese speaker, and I grew up in China for 21 years. I received kindergarten to tertiary education in China, so I knew how to use Chinese to do formal and casual communication in China. I speak the standard Chinese Mandarin, which can help students learn Chinese from the correct pronunciation. Meanwhile, I will add Chinese culture cultivation into my tutor period, and it will give students opportunity to learn culture contents in addition to the language.
My Hobbies
My most significant hobby is traveling. I traveled a lot of states in the United States. The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. Some of my other hobbies include reading books, drawing, watching movies and listening to music. I think I can relax myself by these ways.
