About Me

Experience Summary

Ryan Chesser loves music. But it wasn’t always that way. He started piano lessons in 5th grade, but didn’t fall in love with music until young adulthood. Ryan went on to further his musical education and graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelors Degree in Church Music in 2007. He served as the music minister of New Beginning Baptist Church from 2008 – 2010and went on to serve as the primary keyboardist at Victory Church, where he iscurrently the primary keyboardist for the worship team and the pianist for the orchestra. While Ryan certainly enjoys playing the piano, his true love is composing music. He has written two songs that have been performed at Victory Church, and one song co-written with DavidCarlyle that is used in regular rotation. His collaboration with Christian recording artist Melissa Tremel can bedownloaded here: If you are a Coldplay play fan, click on over and listen to a rendition of “Yellow” arranged for a friend’s wedding. Ryan is best suited to teaching older beginner and advanced students. He also has an excellent grasp of how to play the keyboard in a band, due to hiseducation at Southeastern and many years experience performing as part of a church band. Susan Chesser’s love for childrenand her love for music come together perfectly while teaching piano. Susan was a successful retail store managerfor Payless Shoes until she left her job in May of 2013 to become a full-timemom to daughter Adelaina Rose. In August of the same year, she officiallyopened The Chesser Music Studio. She wasinspired by friend Stephanie Harrison to put her love for kids, her love formusic, and her college education together. Susan began piano lessons in 3rdgrade, and continued private lessons until graduation from high school. Susanis a reluctant pianist; her mother always had to force her to practice! Susancame to Florida to pursue a degree in church music at Southeastern Universityand was enrolled there from 2004 – 2009. (Unfortunately, due to familycircumstances, Susan had to leave the University with just a few credit hoursleft to complete her degree.) Susan’s primary instrument wasvoice, with secondary emphasis in piano. She took a few classes from the musical education program and wasintrigued but was not interested in teaching music at the public schoo llevel. Fast forward several years andthe opportunity presented itself to teach voice to her niece and piano to hernephew and she found out she LOVES teaching. More than that, she loves teaching KIDS!
