Experience Summary
After graduating with a degree in Theatre, I turned my abilities towards mastering the spoken Italian language. I have studied Italian at DePaul University in Chicago, Lorenzo De Medici in Florence and Middlebury College in Vermont, where I am currently earning my masters over four summers. I also have two years of real world experience, as I have been living in the small town of Mantua, Italy since 2012. My life is not complete without the Italian language. While reading Italian text is an important way to reinforce vocabulary and sentence structure, my passion rests with speaking the language.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is more non traditional. I use many games that come from my theatrical background. Many of the games require students to be on their feet. I make learning Italian a physical process, not just a mental one. I focus on the importance of the pronunciation of words. I use pictures and film clip to engage both visual and auditory learners.
