Experience Summary
For the past three years, I have been teaching Writing at Austin Community College. Prior to that I taught teachers as an online facilitator for PBS. In addition, I have been a special education teacher and coordinator and an English/Language Arts/Reading teacher in Texas, Ohio, Connecticut, and New York.
Teaching Style
I believe that all students can learn to read and write with an approach individualized for each learner regardless of the age.
My Hobbies
I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and pets. I love to garden, swim, and create cards.

Grammar is often considered the more boring aspect of writing. However, with all of the interactive resources that are available today through the internet, editing can even be fun! |
Literature |

Literature includes all of the wonderful genres of literature. Students need to be exposed to the best of them in order to appreciate them and analyze them. |
Spelling |

I have many techniques that I have shared with students of all ages in order to help them master spelling or compensate for a disability in this area. |
Writing |
Proficiency: Expert

Writing and composition are generally the same. These can include all of the different forms of expository writing and creative writing. I have taught all of the various forms of writing, in particular the essay. |
