I have experience I'm ACT one on one test prep and started a small group June 14 of 3-4 students that enhanced the review process with the benefit of utilizing the motivation that peers can provoke as well as maintaining the individual attention that tutoring provides! |
I have tutored students in comp 1 & 2 throughout their entire semesters every step of the way. I also had to take these classes as all college students do ! |
I have experience in tutoring students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and ADD in writing papers, ACT , and as far as comp 1&2 |
Standardized tests prep is my favorite type of tutoring sessions because it enhances knowledge a student already has. I teach them to utilize that knowledge to develop skills that can be useful over an entire spectrum of things. It is exciting to see how suprised some students are at their own innate skills in subjects they felt were their weakest. |
In the ESL and regular reading writing and college English composition classes grammar is always the same! I actually have the most experience in English ( writing papers, ESL, ACT prep, dyslexia, reading, sentence structure, and other grammar ). I have had the most students in this genre and of all types. |
Elementary-Algebra
I use methods that Shanghai uses to teach math skills (Shanghai, China has the number one math scores in the world) |
I have worked with a number of different students with various diagnoses including autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and more. I don't believe in"learning disabilities"because it indicates one is "unable" to learn. This is not the case. Students learn in their own way and I get to help discover how my students learn along with them. This is the advantage of being a tutor rather than a classroom teacher of 25 Students. Teachers must provide the teaching methods that help promote the learning process in the majority of Students. 20/25 may benefit and the rest are labled "disabled" |
