Experience Summary
I have worked as a Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra Support, and Geometry Teacher in San Diego and with a Hawaiian public charter school for over seven years. I have also worked as a substitute teacher for multiple school districts in the San Diego area and I have successfully tutored students in math from middle school to college level Algebra.
Teaching Style
I teach through enthusiasm. I really love math problems, and I explain it like I would want it explained to me if I didn't get it. I use a "I-do, We-do, You-do" approach with the examples which works very well with students of all abilities.
My Hobbies
I enjoy sailing and have done it professionally, I scuba dive, I study economics because money matters, and I am beginning to study journalism.
Other Comments
Every I get into a math class and show students how to do the problems their teachers were supposed to have taught them, and expect them to be able to do, the majority of students that had absolutely no interest in the subject because they had no understanding of it, start asking for me to check their work, kind of proudly and also for verification of correctness.
