Experience Summary
I began my career as a special education high school teacher in Lakeland, Florida. I have over 14 years experience in the field of special education as a teacher, teacher educator. During my graduate studies, I worked for the University of South Florida’s Department of Special Education teaching and providing professional development. Most recently, I worked as a teacher educator preparing Instructional Strategists at the University of Northern Iowa - one of the Midwest's top teacher education institutions.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is highly interactive and individualized based on the needs of the student and the content to be taught. My goal is to quickly empower students with the necessary background knowledge and learning strategies so that they can be independent learners and remain successful throughout their educational careers. I enjoy working with all students and have extensive experience with those who have learning disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury, or other specialized learning needs.

Additional tutoring areas: transition skills, social/behavioral skills, assistive technology, abuse prevention and empowerment, as well as, training for homeschool teachers. I am an approved (background checked) vendor and child advocate through both the Polk County School Board and the Florida's Guardian ad Litem program.
