Experience Summary
I am a certified English and ESL teacher with more than nine years of formal experience. I've taught students who range from five to sixty years old in a variety of settings including public schools, private schools, and community outreach programs. I was recently recognized as the Teacher of the Year for my school and district. Also, I've studied, taught, and given teacher trainings around the world. I am very passionate about what I teach and what I do, and I bring this energy to my tutoring sessions.
Teaching Style
I tailor my teaching to the learning sales and needs of my students, but I personally like to make my lesions Nd sessions as realistic as possible. If the lesson's goals allow for it, I involve reading, writing, listening, and speaking in an authentic way. I also try to begin lessons with a formative assessment to gauge prior knowledge. This allows me to incorporate the right amount of support at the beginning. As the lesson proceeds supports are lessened to allow the learner to practice and demonstrate the new knowledge or skill.
