Experience Summary
Hello, my name is Carson and I am currently a senior attending California State University Fresno. I am a biomedical physics major and will be completing a math minor as well. I have had many years of experience with many various courses in math and physics. Along with the physics and math courses, I have taken many medical physics course focused specifically for my major. I have been a private tutor for the past 4 years and have tutored for the Fresno State physics department the past 2 years. During my stay at Fresno State I have received many scholarships along with internships. This last summer I completed two internships dealing with medical physics. The first was at MD Anderson, in Houston,Texas , in which I completed various tasks applied to MRI research. The second internship I completed was at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In Madison I completed research focused mainly on brachytherapy treatment planning systems. Currently I am taking part a research project that has a main focus of image analysis for cancer patients. I would like to continue on into a PhD program with a focus on medical physics, specifically MRI imaging.
Teaching Style
I like to teach by first explaining the concepts and reasons for why we are doing a problem. Some subjects are hard to understand so changing the words into familiar terms is a useful tool I use. I like to have fun while helping others learn but also make sure to keep the meeting focused.
My Hobbies
I like to watch movies, eat interesting foods, hike, run, walk, travel, kayak, bike, read, dance, play music, listen to music, and try new things
