Experience Summary
What differentiates me from other tutors is that I am not a native speaker of Mandarin--instead, I have learned the language the hard way, the same way you'll have to, and I know what that's like. I am a recent graduate of the renowned Chinese Department at Middlebury College and have spent time studying in China. My tutoring sessions tend to focus on conversational skills, pronunciation, and attaining fluency, which are key to improving your overall language skills. We can also discuss important areas of cultural literacy as they come up. I am happy to work with beginning, intermediate, and advanced students (of all ages) and to focus on the areas you find most important. I work full-time doing legislative work for a DC non-profit, and am excited to work with you to improve your Chinese skills.
