Experience Summary
I am currently working on my Masters in German Studies, as well as getting my teaching license. I have plans to go through the TEFL program to earn certification in teaching English as a Foreign language. I have been studying and teaching German/ESL since high school. I also lived abroad in Russia for sometime, and am continuing to learn Russian on my own. I can also teach the basics of the Russian language.
Teaching Style
I like to speak, slowly and thoroughly, in the language I'm tutoring in. For example, I would conduct most lessons in German, but at a slow and comprehensive pace, so that students are able to "pick up" on the German language as if it were second nature. If there is an issue with miscommunication, I switch to English, and explain the concept again in German.
My Hobbies
Languages, video games, irish fiddle, cats, cooking, baking, sewing. I also speak Russian at an intermediate level, and have lived abroad in Russia for some time.
Other Comments
I'm very understanding and patient. Someone took the time to teach me German (and to an extent, English), the least I can do is give that same patience and knowledge unto others. Also, teaching/tutoring in German and English is something I love to do. It's not a chore, and teaching you is not a chore! I want to make learning it just as fun for you too!
