I go by Matt. I have been tutoring for the past 10 years and have had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students having different skills and skill sets. After years of tutoring it has become clear that the best way to help improve a student's understanding in a subject area is by being able to give them the individualized attention and guidance that they may need. Because I am able to communicate with a diverse array of people and because of my proficiency in teaching the subject matter I intend to teach, I am able to reach out to my students and help them think critically while getting them to become more self-reliant in problem solving. This is partly due to my versatile teaching style as well as my ability to help my students think outside the box, especially as this applies to understanding complex mathematical concepts as well as being able to solve multi-step problems. I am also very proficient at helping my students become better writers and build upon their composition skills; I have had the opportunity to help numerous students write excellent research papers and write great papers for courses they have taken in English literature and or composition.
