Experience Summary
I am studying Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Cincinnati. I will graduate in May 2015. I have taken and excelled at Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Cell Structure and Function, Genetics, Biology, Ecology/Evolution. I have also taken math through Applied Calculus I. I was awarded University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College's Biology Student of the Year in 2013. I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and also the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Teaching Style
Science is similar to math where it is important to practice problems. I mostly tutor Organic Chemistry, in which I prefer to help individuals work out extra practice problems (or those assigned by the teacher) to practice concepts. I have a similar approach in the other subjects I tutor. It is best in science to work out hard problems outside of class because then it reviews all concepts needed to answer these problems on a test. My students always do much better after a tutor session with me because of this. It is also a little more exciting than simply summarizing a teacher's lecture.
My Hobbies
Running, Cycling, Mountain biking, playing guitar/banjo, reading.
