Teaching Style
My preferred teaching style for high school and college students is informal and discussion-centered, based on mutually agreed-upon goals. For teaching reading, I use a phonics-based method, which my father used when he taught me to read when I was 5, and which I used to teach my children to read. I seek to engage children, draw them out, and show them that not only is learning fun, but that it is actually useful.
