MORE THAN 15 YEARS TEACHING IN PUBLIC, PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND ONE-ON-ONE AND SMALL GROUP TUTORING EXPERIENCE.
No matter what the subject is, teaching is an art, and like every art, teaching requires a great understanding of the subject and outstanding communication skills( intrinsic and extrinsic). I like to break down whatever skill I'm teaching in the simplest form at first. This means explaining the concept of the skill in a way that the student can understand what it is we are trying to do. I also try to use a pictorial representation of the skill if that is needed. After that I'll show them how I work a concept with that particular skill in order to allow them to see firsthand what the thought process is and the steps that are needed to use that particular skill. In addition, I love teaching in an environment where the student is made to feel comfortable and that their efforts are rewarded and appreciated. I like to provide my students with as many tools as possible to make sure they get the most thorough understanding of a particular concept. The use of hands-on materials, one-on-one settings, and technology are a must in achieving effective and lasting results, because I believe these strategies allow students to connect learning with their experiences. One person at a time helping one student at a time can make the difference. By working together, we will achieve success.
