Experience Summary
I have 21 years of teaching experience, ranging from 8th grade through junior college. I have taught all high school math subjects, including AP Statistics and AP Calculus. In addition to my classroom experience, I have done years of private tutoring as well. It is through the perspectives gained from both these experiences that I continually learn about what works for kids in learning mathematics!
Teaching Style
I have a strong background in techonology-enhanced instruction, but believe strongly in a variety of approaches to teaching in order for students to gain lasting understanding of mathematics. My understanding of high school mathematics curricula is invaluable for pinpointing strengths and weaknesses of my students. Students are motivated by their own learning, but need to see relevance in their studies. My hope is that my students gain understanding of the role mathemtaics plays for future advancement in many disciplines.
