Experience Summary
I am a recent graduate of Rosamond High School. During my time there I took math all the way up to AP Calculus. I took the AP test, and am awaiting the results. I have a refined mathematical aptitude, and strong people skills. I may haven never tutored professionally, but I have helped many of my peers understands challenging mathematical concepts. Whenever someone was stumped they would come to me for help. Many of my peers tell me that I helped them get a high grade on a certain test or even in the class.
Teaching Style
When teaching a student, i try to help them understand the concept of the lesson before trying to explain the procedure. Once i have explained the concept to them, I show them how to work out the problem. Once I have walked them through a few problems, I let them try to do a couple on their own, until they get stuck. When they get stuck I try to reinforce the concept, while not actually helping the student work out the problem, unless it is neccesarry.

Algebra is my strongest subject in math, and I can help students in Algebra 1 exceptionally well. I took Algebra 1 back in 8th grade, and ever since then have been using the basic concepts taught in Algebra 1 in varying fields of math. Algebra is also my favorite subject in math and I enjoy helping my peers in Algebra more than any other subject. |
