Experience Summary
I possess over 30 years of academic/industry training the areas of mathematics, networking, programming
and engineering. Having taught for 2 universities, 2 community colleges and several private institutions
I bring to the class both an academic/private industry point of view. Students are taught not only the
specific details of the course but are also shown where the subject matter is used in industry along jobs
which might employ this knowledge. I prefer informal/one-on-one teaching with strong interactivity of
the student and teacher during the instruction session.
Teaching Style
I am capable of both structured and informal teaching styles depending upon the situation. I find that
when smaller increments of course instruction is followed up with the student demonstrating proficiency
and comprehension the overall learning experience is maximized. Repetition is normally the best way
to comprehend not only the material presented but it allows the student to assimilate the steps and
formulas simulataneously.
My Hobbies
I travel, boat, golf, bowl, shoot guns and like biking. My latest adventure is
"cooking" and learning new recipes.
