Experience Summary
I have been teaching French to English-speaking people living in France since 1979. I have also been teaching English as a Second Language to French adults in a business environment and to high school/college students as well.
I particularly enjoy tutoring reading and spelling to children K-12th Grade. However, since I have been residing in France for over 35 years, my speciality is also ESL and French to non-French speakers. My undergraduate degree was obtained at Agnes Scott College (Decatur, GA) and I went to France for my Junior Year Abroad. I am now moving back to the States (Savannah).

English ESOL |
This is one of my top subjects!

English being the one language all the French need to learn, I have been teaching English ESOL since 1993.I have really loved teaching English to the French as well as to other nationalities (Germans, Chinese, Italians, Polish, Russians) as I have learned a lot from the errors my students have made in English. I love teaching total beginners to the most advanced level (European Union standards A1 to C2). I use the European methods of teaching English to non-native speakers and have a TEFL degree from my former company. |
French |
This is one of my top subjects!

Having majored in college in French and living in France since 1976, I am bilingual and would gladly help children, high school/college students as well as older adults learn this wonderful language. I can help total beginners as well as intermediate/advanced learners. I have been teaching French to American/British students for 15 years. I also enjoy talking about French culture in general and giving travel tips to those who wish to visit Paris, the City of Light, or the provinces/regions. |
Grammar |
This is one of my top subjects!
Proficiency: Expert
|
I have been teaching English grammar since 1992 in both classroom situations as well as in tutoring one-to-one students (French students and native English speakers). |
Reading |
Proficiency: Expert
|
I am a bookworm and my favorite activity is to teach young students to learn how to read and then to love reading. Once children enjoy reading, they become voracious readers themselves. My favorite age group for teaching reading is First Grade through 6th Grade. |
