Experience Summary
I have been playing and performing flute for 19 years. I began learning flute through the Suzuki method when I was 6 years old. I studied with Aniko Debreceny for 8 years. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory where I studied flute with Dr. Jennie Brown, and was a member of the Wheaton College Symphonic Band for 4 years. I took classes in Music Pedagogy. I had a combined degree at Wheaton for both music and English. I took many English classes including: British Literature, American Literature, Creative Writing, Children's Literature, and Shakespeare.
In 2015 I graduated from Shenandoah University where I studies Flute Performance with Professor Jonathan Snowden. I now play with the Capital Wind Symphony.
Teaching Style
I teach flute from a variety of methods including Suzuki and learning by ear, and incorporating music theory, music reading, and sight reading skills. I also am available for tutoring English grammar and writing.
