Experience Summary
Served over three years as laboratory assistant while attending Greensboro College. Duties included teaching small groups as well as entire laboratory on occasion. Student teaching included upper level Biology and Anatomy courses as well as General Biology at Eastern Randolf High School. Taught general science for four years at the Juvenile Evaluation Center in Swannanoa, NC. Transitioned careers to Medical Laboratory technology for over 12 years. Worked in medical laboratory environment for over 12 years serving as supervisor for the last four.
Teaching Style
My teaching style varies to the student. I first try to asses prior knowledge and comprehension through general questions. Once this has been established, I use examples, visual aids, and verbal communication to better illustrate the topic at hand. Everyone has different learning styles. Therefore, it is vital to teach using the most appropriate style for the individual.
