Experience Summary
I am native Chinese. I've studied translation (EN-SCH) for 5 years, and I have 4 years experience as translator and 1 year professional experience as a language teacher. I used to teach a class of over 100 college students on TOEFL Writing and TOEIC Reading.
In March 2011, I began to teach TOEFL writing and TOEIC reading courses in top-notch English training institution in China. I taught over 300 students, mainly University students, and managed various class sizes ranging from class of ten to class of over 100 students. I tailored my teaching curriculum, exercise materials and writing materials to different students’ needs. With humorous, passionate and creative teaching style, I created an active learning atmosphere, which was popular with students and greatly aroused their interest to learn a foreign language. Due to excellent teaching, I was appointed as the TOEFL Junior Program Director. I worked out the marketing plan, deployed the teaching resources, attended ETS TOEFL Junior Program seminar and discussed extensively with experts from ETS on teaching methodology. Few teachers have ever been given the chance to teach a class of over 100 students or to preside over a program. However I did it in my 1st year working in this elite English training organization. From such peculiar experience, I learned how to gain trust from the students, conduct an efficient teaching module, work under high pressure as well as achieve the best within time limitation. It is also from this experience that I found my intense interest in language teaching and determined to take teaching as my ultimate career goal.
