Experience Summary
As a lead level designer at numerous game studios, I've been at the center of dozens of high-budget projects, each with unique challenges at the cutting edge of multimedia technology. I've created and managed low and high poly rigged models, effects and animations in a variety of packages (XSI, Maya, Max, etc...), and I've written a great deal of script for each. I'm fluent in Flash and ActionScript 3, and I've used Photoshop and Excel professionally on a daily basis. I've managed sound design, voice over, storyboarding and cinematics production, lore creation and world design. I've worked quality assurance and managed focus group sessions. I've handled localization ... you name it, I've done it, working with (and learning from) experts in every field.
Programming has always been my passion, and I've created many small games in my spare time, as well as a number of proprietary development tools.
I'm now developing a very complicated browser game (asynchronous multiplayer game on MySQL) using my own dynamic Javascript DOM & AJAX client-server framework, which I host on my own LAMP stack (see rpsuniverse.com).
Teaching Style
I am the child of two teachers, and have been immersed in education my entire life. I know and appreciate the difference between feeding a student facts, and guiding them to mastery of the subject.
My Hobbies
Computer programming, mountain biking, reading and carpentry, primarily.
