Teaching Style
My philosophy of teaching is based on the communicative approach with students involved in active learning. Considering that French learning takes place in a classroom environment, I know what impact it could have on students living in countries where French is not spoken outside of the classroom environment. In my view, “effort maximization” inside the classroom is paramount to students’ chances of reaching French fluency.
My Hobbies
I love to travel and discover other cultures. So far i have visited over 10 Eurpeans, 6 African countries countries, Canada and much of the United States. I love playing soccer but watch a lot of basket ball. Any out door activity in always an opportunity to explore something new.
Other Comments
As a teacher I have two main roles:
• To facilitate the communication process in the classroom
• To act as an independent participant within the learning-teaching group
The teacher that I am is also expected to act as a resource, an organizer of resources, a motivator, a counselor, a guide, an analyst and a researcher. There are many other minor roles of a teacher; some of these would include being an actor and an entertainer. After all, a good lesson must be interesting or the students will ‘switch off’ and learn nothing.
