Experience Summary
I have years worth of both instructing large-scale classes as well as one-on-one tutoring. After graduating from UCLA in 2005 with a Bachelor's in English, I taught English composition, speaking, and grammar in Beijing, China for almost two years. Since that time, I have also tutored high school-aged students in the areas of critical reading of literary texts, essay writing techniques, as well as creative writing.
Teaching Style
I'm constantly asking questions of students and I'm never willing to accept "I don't know" as an answer. I encourage students to think independently and critically of their tasks at hand so they don't just excel when a tutor or some type of authority figure is in the room. I love working with kids and will typically take a serious but gentle approach to fostering skills.
