Experience Summary
25 years as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner with the following career experiences: pediatrics, adults, nurse preceptor, NICU, AIDS, Oncology, case management, utilization management, Director of Nursing, home health care, RN and LPN professor at college level, coordinator of GI program, coordinator and developer of RN mentoring program with 98% success rate. Training of students in hospital, lab and long term care facilities. Preceptor of RN aqnd LPN students at all levels.
Teaching Style
Being a nurse requires caring, structure, flexilbility, teamwork and professionalism and I incorporate that in my teaching style. I assess what a student learning style is, build on and incorporating new methods of learning for success. Applying assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and critical thinking are core to nursing NCLEX success and actual practice. Additional instruction in, knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis,and evaluation are essential for testing, life long learning and application in practice (Blooms taxonomy 6 levels of cognitive domain.) My passion is nursing and the success of students.
