About Me

Experience Summary

Over 25 years in my professional carrier in higher education institutes in USA/other working in research, teaching, consulting, and out reach, I formulated research projects (proposals) and instructed others on quantitative methods, including determination of the reliability and accuracy of collected data through the use of biometrics methods, sampling method (data collection designs, surveys), geospatial statistical applications (type, quality control, Monte Carlo simulation, bootstrapping, analysis including spatial autocorrelation-cross correlation, spatially weighted regression-spatial auto aggressive-regression, stepwise and logistic regression, regression classification trees, temporal spatial lags, and weighting function). I also used non-parametric statistics, student T test and Z analysis (PCA), discriminant analysis, and canonical analysis), regression analysis (simple and multiple). I applied statistical/survey packages (Splus, R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.), as well as crosstabs, charts, graphs, and visuals to represent data and reports. I also served as a reviewer or editor for several professional journals, peer-review funding proposals, and other publications. I authored the book: “Spatial Statistics: Geospatial Information Modeling and Thematic Mapping”, Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group, LLC, NY/CRC Publisher, 2011 | ISBN-10: 1420069764).). The book explores how to extract information from remotely sensed imagery, GIS, and GPS, and how to combine this with field data—vegetation, soil, and environmental—to produce a spatial model that can be reconstructed and displayed using GIS software. Readers learn the requirements and limitations of each geospatial modeling and mapping tool. Case studies with real-life examples illustrate important applications of the models.
