Experience Summary
At University of Cincinnati, despite being a full-time graduate student, I was serving at the Math Learning Center for nine hours as a tutor and a grader for three classes. I tutored Calculus, Method Matrixes, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. Undergraduate students always showed up to get a solution for their homework. I was always telling them I am not going to give you just a correct final answer but I’ll teach you a way to solve problems. I insisted on the scientific reasoning and mathematical rigor for example I didn’t allow them to work on particular cases without knowing the general definition.
Teaching Style
. Thus I really emphasized on the critical thinking aspect. So I urge them to embrace the independent thought.
The most interesting thing is the fact that I make any mathematical topic relevant to my audience. For students in Business school, I use my knowledge in Statistics, for engineering ones; I appeal my background in Applied Mathematics, Signal Processing, Automation and Dynamical Systems. So I always tell to my students the applications of Mathematics in the real life.
