Experience Summary
While teaching at Maryville Children's Academy in Maryville, Tennessee, I created learning activities for the Kindergarten Readiness and Four Year Old students. I also created the 2012 Space Curriculum for the preschool system. During my Internship/Student Teaching experience at Donald Yates Primary School and Ocooe Middle School I taught various subjects in the second grade, and I also taught Social Studies and Science in the sixth grade. My teaching experience in the Ocoee Middle School sixth grade Social Studies class inspired me to create my Master's thesis Gate Trippin': An Unorthodox Curriculum Guide to an Ancient World. While designing the guide, I created learning strategies based on ideas from Stargate SG-1 to teach sixth graders about Ancient Egypt. While I attended Mount Olive East Church of God, I tutored children of various grade levels. As an Education Assistant and Substitute Teacher for the Hamilton County School System, I worked with special education students in various classrooms. I also taught research skills to youth and adults while working as a Library Assistant at the Chattanooga Public Library.
Teaching Style
I enjoy using innovative engaging learning strategies. For example, my preschool students painted the Aurora Borealis with neon paint colors during a Science lesson at Christmastime.
My Hobbies
I analyze motion pictures and television shows. I also enjoy play the trumpet and listening to music.
