Experience Summary
I have a deep passion for learning, and it's always my goal not only to help students learn skills but to find their inner motivation too. I currently work as a substitute teacher, and I appreciate the chance I have to see the best of what teachers and paraprofessionals are using in the classroom and how they help their students. I have much experience students of all ages with their homework and projects as a nanny, babysitter, and older sister of four. I was also a certified therapeutic riding instructor, so I taught individuals with disabilities to ride horses.
I was a top student myself, and I have a B.A. in English with a minor in history. I attended graduate school for writing and editing. I currently work for an equestrian travel television show, writing and editing quality articles for the website.
Teaching Style
I believe that learning is so much better and more effective when you enjoy the process. Just as I put context into every article I write, I strive to help students see where these facts came from and how this knowledge they're gaining fits into the world around us. School and learning can be hard work, but it's valuable work, and we can make it a lot of fun.
My Hobbies
I'm an avid amateur photographer, hiker, and traveler. I am a dedicated health nut, and I truly love cooking and baking. I also lift weights, and I listen to a lot of books in my spare time. I absolutely love learning new things. I seek being around those who achieve and never stop trying. People who help others and make the world a better place are the ones I admire most.
