Experience Summary
I am a recently retired special education teacher with 27 years classroom experience. I am currently a substitute teacher in the public schools. I have vast experience working with special needs students as well as struggling regular education students. I have direct hands-on experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism, ADD/ADHD, and sensory integration. I am trained in and have taught specific reading strategies such as Orton-Gillingham. I also have training and experience with specific math curriculum and strategies such as Math in Focus (Singapore Math)and Touch Math.
Teaching Style
My teaching style reflects an approach that is hands-on, fun and engaging, uses humor, and lastly perseverance. I have a lifelong passion for working with children struggling to learn.
My Hobbies
I enjoy travelling, reading, gardening, biking, and family time.
