Experience Summary
I have been an elementary and middle school teacher for over 20 years in public and private schools.I have taught many summer sessions in art and science and Hawaiian nature study.Students really enjoy learning with me and they improve their skills greatly as well as their outlook on learning and how much fun it can be.
Teaching Style
I always been a teacher who encourages hands-on learning. In math especially it is important to use manipulatives to see concepts from a different viewpoint. In the classroom I typically integrated varied learning styles and subjects to keep learning fun and achieve better comprehension. I have always aimed to teach the whole child according to their needs and nurturing their self concept.
My Hobbies
I am an ocean person. I swim, snorkel and boogie board. Save our reefs! I bike ride to and from the ocean. I am planning to try stand up paddling soon. I also like the forest and hiking. I do some gardening at home. I used to do a lot of art especially ceramics and am now doing photography. I love to travel.
