Experience Summary
In 2007, I began studying Russian Language at the University of Wyoming. As part of my studies, I spent two consecutive semesters living in Russia and taking intensive Russian courses at Saratov State University, one of the top 50 research institutions in the Russian Federation. This time spent in Russia was crucial in attaining my current level of Russian. In Saratov, I typically spent 15-20 hours a week in private lessons with native teachers, specially trained to teach Russian as a foreign language. After I developed a solid grasp of the language, we started focusing on more specific elements of the language, such as phonetics, syntax, and lexicology. I also took and passed the Russian as a Foreign Language exam at the first level, which enables one to study at the university level. Upon my return to the states, contacted by the tutoring department at the University of Wyoming and subsequently hired as a Russian tutor. This job included training and a level 1 CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certification. I received a Bachelors Degree in Russian Language in December, 2011, with an overall G.P.A of 3.2, and 3.7 within Major.
