Experience Summary
My name is Mya Atmore I am a K-6th grade teacher I have a MA in Education from Patten University where I completed my credentialing work. Currently, I work as a Supplemental Education Teacher and private in-home tutor which over the past years has been very beneficial. I have worked as a tutor for several years as a private in-home tutor and as a after-school SES Teacher/Tutor. Although, I have classroom teaching experience and over six years of substitute work experience I find tutoring more rewarding.
Teaching Style
I am a dedicated and devoted educator and I love working with children, as a great and talented woman once eloquently said, "I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way," these words are the foundation for my work and call me to continuously be creative and inventive finding and inventing new and interesting ways to reach each of my students goals.
I have a special talent with students and have been working with them since I was a teen first as a baby sitter, then as a literacy advocated serving in a low-come community assisting families and students, later I worked as a dance teacher, mentor, after-school program teacher, SED Teacher/Counselor, substitute-teacher, classroom teacher and private teacher and finally as a Supplemental Educational Support Teacher. Working within all of these various areas serving students three things in particular remain universal and that is reliability, punctuality and preparation, I take what I do very seriously and become very involved and attached with the learning process and journey which leads them to their academic goals.
