Experience Summary
I believe that all children can learn and learn well. I enjoy working with students and teaching has always been a passion of mine. Before moving to Florida, I tutored at a community college in CT. I worked with students in the areas of French, Spanish and English. In Florida, I worked for six years as a paraprofessional at a school for children with learning disabilities. I have worked with many students in various areas for home school and public school. I taught grades 2 to 12 in math, reading and history. I am certified in Structure of the Intellect, that focuses on how a child learns based on 27 different intelligences in order to make proper gains in education. I am currently working for a private school in the Baldwin Oaks area as a math teacher for grades 3-9. Many of our children have learning differences so it is up to me to understand how they learn the complex world of math and have them enjoy it as well. A difficult subject should at least be fun to learn. I also make up stories and rhymes for the operations that the children need to learn and it has worked wonders. If they temporarily forget the operation, I remind them of the rhyme and they instantly remember what to do. It has been fun for many of my students.
Teaching Style
I learn how the student needs to be educated and teach to the style that they need.
