University of Maryland, Biology PhD with over 7 years teaching experience at undergraduate and high school level. I have taught introductory Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathobiology, Mammalian Physiology, evolution, and animal behavior.

Experience Summary

As a Biology PhD student I taught biology for seven years at the undergraduate and high school level. I also was a teaching assistant as an undergraduate Biology student. I have taught introductory organismal biology, veterinary pathobiology, molecular techniques, introductory anatomy and physiology, upper level mammalian physiology, evolution, animal behavior. Additionally, I participate in the University of Maryland Teaching and Learning training program and I have received a distinguished teacher award from the University of Maryland, Center for Teaching Excellence.

Teaching Style

I strongly encourage students to engage the material and strive to understand core concepts that form the foundation for comprehension of all associated material. I do not promote rote memorization but I do teach methods to remember material more efficiently. I am an enthusiastic teacher and enjoy working hard with students to achieve success.

My Hobbies

I love to running, backpacking, whitewater rafting, carpentry.
