Experience Summary
I originally signed up for a national MCAT course and was frustrated with my lack of improvement and an instructor who was not interested or able to properly motivate her students. After a few weeks I decided to study at my own pace with the help of a friend.
I eventually learned the right way to study for the MCAT and know the potential trouble areas and common mistakes made on the exam. More importantly, I now understand the significance of having someone who can keep you on track, help you understand difficult material to move more efficiently, and especially to keep you motivated during difficult times.
With my help, you will have no trouble understanding all of the necessary concepts, learning to apply them to the unique MCAT-style questions, and eventually mastering the tips and tricks needed to finish each section quickly and efficiently.
That's exactly what I'm offering - along with all the MCAT content and practice books you'll ever need: Kaplan, Examkrackers, Princeton Review, even the Berkeley Review. I'll tell you exactly which books are best for each section based on your current knowledge level, and will track your progress and print reports so you know which are your weakest sections and subsections. You'll save hundreds of dollars on books and practice tests alone, or you can use your own materials if you already have them - the choice is yours.
My best sections were Verbal, Physical Sciences, and the Writing Section. I scored in the 99th percentile in the VR section, which is statistically the most challenging section on the exam. I scored in the top 95th percentile in the PS, so if Physics and Chemistry are giving you trouble, I can certainly help. Finally, I scored in the 95th percentile on the WS section so, although this section is being phased out of the exam next year, I can still help you put together 2 solid essays in under an hour. I also consistently scored 80-90% in Biology practice exams, so I can help in that section as well.
I also have experience tutoring reading comprehension for the Memphis Literacy Corps and am also an Arabic language teacher and youth mentor at my local community center, so I am quite experienced tutoring people of all ages and backgrounds.
