Experience Summary
I have seven years of experience teaching general education in elementary schools, with one year of experience in 4th grade, two years in 3rd grade, and four years in 2nd grade. I have worked with children with special needs including autism, ADD/ADHD, and dyslexia. I recently completed my Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Intervention, along with a Behavior Analysis certification, at the University of North Texas. I will be starting a job in Round Rock in June as a behavior specialist working one on one with individuals with autism.
Teaching Style
Each child is different and has their own unique set of skills that they bring to the table. You have to find what that child's strength is - and use it to help that child grow in other areas. Each child must be approached as an individual, and there is not a ready-set plan that works for everyone. Find what motivates a child, what makes them tick, establish rapport with them - and then guide them along the way while providing them with multiple opportunities to experience success.
My Hobbies
I love reading, watching sports, listening to live music, working out, and being outside!
