Experience Summary
I am have been tutoring Japanese ladies and children for 16 years. I love to teach English, writing, spelling, and reading. My favorite age to teach is children who are in K--5 grade. I try to make our sessions enjoyable, but at the same time, my main goal is to help improve my students command of the English language in all area--writing, spelling, reading,and reading comprehension. I want my students to learn to love English!
Teaching Style
I feel that lots of reading is necessary to improve an adult or a child's reading skills. We read lots of books together! I ask lots of questions about the books that we have read--helping the student with reading comprehension. I purchase age appropriate workbooks, games, flash cards(spelling), etc... Sometimes we go to the library to pick out books, and do little field trips to make for a fun learning experience!
My Hobbies
Reading, Cooking, Lunches out with friends, Christian concerts, Taking care of my Grandchildren!!!!
