Teaching Style
I always teach the material in a way that was easy for me to learn. I learn best through "hands on" approaches. I learned how to write by practicing and imitating other professionals. My assignments are creative, but I always strive for practical results and measurable improvement. I want students to notice their improvement, but also to realize that what they've learned is useable in the "real" world.
Creative Writing |
Proficiency: Experienced
|
I teach through imitation. I have had a few courses in college, and I have used numerous techniques with success in a sixth grade class room. |
English |
This is one of my top subjects!
Proficiency: Expert
|
I have three years of classroom teaching experience. I spent one year teaching English in South Korea, and two years in the public school system here in the US. |
Grammar |
Proficiency: Experienced
|
I teach grammar by having students learn to recognize each sentence as a construction of "blocks." I feel this makes comprehension much easier than the usual way of teaching. |
Literature |
This is one of my top subjects!
Proficiency: Expert
|
I have written a masters thesis on how to read the Bible as literature. |
Shakespeare |
This is one of my top subjects!
Proficiency: Expert

Part of my master's thesis was how Shakespeare teaches us to be better readers of the Bible. I focused primarily on King Lear. |
