Experience Summary
I have taught all grades for several years as a teacher. My main focus has been Special Education and I am close to completing my Education Specialist Credential. I have also tutored for the Jones Reading and Math Clinics for over 10 years. I mostly tutor math at all grade levels from kindergarten through 12th grade. I also tutor earth science, writing, reading skills, history, and govenment.
Teaching Style
I always strive to draw the student's attention to the lesson, therefore, I work most math problems with my students. I try to keep communication open and light-hearted. I want my studeents to feel free to ask questions and come to me with any problems they may have. I generally prefer hands-on learning. I try to never "lecture" and remain removed from the material the student is working on. I am very involved with the student and am not afraid to challenge them when I feel they are ready for that.
My Hobbies
I love to read, swim, go for walks, and I hold an annual Disneyland Pass. There, I get to have fun while I get my love of walking!
