Experience Summary
Graduated high school in 2002, with some advanced placement courses. Also attended University of Alaska, Fairbanks and Sebring Career School in Houston, Texas. I've tutored other students in grammar, middle and high school, in addition to those I've babysat and younger siblings. I've also helped student write research papers at high school and college levels.
Teaching Style
1. Assess student's current understanding of course material by asking a few questions and having student write a page summary.
2. Student and I again review material and locate gaps.
3. Student and I make timeline (or other visual aid).
4. Student is provided with study skills (reading, writing and memory- I'll bring these)
5. Again review course materials, incorporating new study skills.
6. Student and I search for real-life examples (current events/news, possible field trips, attending relevant events).
My Hobbies
Reading, swimming, road trips and visiting the local library.
